REVIEW

I scrolled through kissasian’s main page and found this new drama. Since Korean drama nowadays is mostly about Law-related like Prosecutor, Lawyer, etc. I’m not expecting much. This drama caught my attention because of its casting line, and of course the background story. It tells about the life of a Judge. I’m always wondering how’s the life of a Judge like, I’m curious so I watch it.

I know watching a drama because of curiosity about something specific definitely is not a good reason because we all know the main characters aren’t the actual representatives of a Judge. That’s just a stupid exception from mine.

Okay, so let’s talk about the casting. Yeon Woo Jin was known as a good actor, he’s male lead-worthy. I watched him on Queen of Seven Days so I thought I gotta give him a chance. The female lead is Park Eun Bin, she’s on Age of Youth and there’s a lot to say about her character.

Generally speaking, I really like Park Eun Bin’s character. She is so outspoken and bold. And not to mention, she looks cute in this drama tho. She’s that Judge who can’t control her expressions.  Yes, I love the concept of her character, but if you look at the different point of view, many would find it’s extremely inaccurate.

This drama has so many off-putting aspects in some way. Like how a Judge swear and curse so much even in an official court hearing, it’s already off-putting. If you want to watch this because of its entertaining and fun side, I’d recommend it. But if you want to watch because you’re going to find the accurateness of the Law, don’t. The scriptwriters of this drama basically just turned down a whole Law drama into a makjang drama. They’re so conscious about it, and even include it in some parts of the dialogue in one of the early episodes (1-4). Law dramas are the new kind of makjang, I see.

Let’s move forward to the male lead’s character. He’s okay, pretty normal if you look at it. I just hate his ugly haircut, it’s freaking tragic man. Then there’s a second male lead character played by Dong Ha. My very first impression of his character is, he’s so annoying. But then moments later he switched to some whiny-ass dude, like? It’s unpredictable. I slowly changed my view towards him, thought he’s just like any basic yet cringe second male lead, then BOOM. The last scene of the 4th episode just shocked me to death. He’s not THAT cringe second male lead, but a scary psychopath guy! Damn, I was being fooled by for 2 times today.

I have so many compliments on this drama. First, the leading couples are cute. Second, it’s full of plot-twist and I absolutely love that twist thingy. I heard Judge vs Judge receives high rating, so I’m looking forward to the story development in the next episode. Hope it won’t disappoint me.
